I shot these images during a four month trip with Mariette through Thailand and Indonesia in 1996/97.

I love to get off the beaten path and this was one of those times. We stayed in a little fishing village near Padang. Not much there...sparse accommodation and food offerings. You really feel like you've gone back in time. I think these images were made at that location but my memory is a little fuzzy.
